    President Hubert Maga of Dahomey, on a four-day state visit to Gabon, was presented with the keys to Libreville -- a symbolic welcome to the capital given to V.I.P's -- at a ceremony in the city on Friday (May 28). Earlier, he was met at the airport by President Albert-Bernard Bongo, and the two leaders laid wreaths at the city's monument to President Leon, Gabon's first head of state.

    SYNOPSIS: President Hubert Maga of Dahomey has been paying a state visit to Gabon. In Libreville he laid a wreath on the monument to President Leon, the country's first head of state. He was accompanied by Gabon President Albert-Bernard Bongo. The two leaders reviewed a parade of troops on their way to the wreath-laying ceremony. President Maga had earlier been given a formal welcome at the airport on his arrival, where he was met by President Bongo.

    Later the same day, at a ceremony in Libreville's town hall, President Maga was presented with the keys to the city -- a symbolic welcome given to V.I.P's. The ceremony was performed by the Mayor's first aide. At a reception after the ceremony, the two leaders spoke of the friendship and understanding between Gabon and Dahomey. Each expressed a desire for this friendship to continue.
