The Chairman of the United States Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, Mr. Daniel Haughton, arrived in London?
The Chairman of the United States Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, Mr. Daniel Haughton, arrived in London today (February 17) for talks with Britain's Rolls-Royce engineering company. The negotiations will centre round a contract between the two companies for Rolls-Royce to provide RB 211 jet engines for the Lockheed Tristar airliner. Rolls-Royce, following its recent financial crash, is unable to provide the engines under the terms of the existing contract -- which will now have to be renegotiated. This production shows Mr. Haughton, soon after his arrival in London, commenting on the situation.
