    The Government of Central African Republic has set up another centre to co-ordinate its diamond industry as part of its programme to almost double its revenue from the industry.

    The government aims to increase its export of diamonds from 3,600 million CRF (7.2 million pounds sterling) to 5,000 million CRF.

    Latest year a national diamond centre was opened and the foundation stone for a similar centre was laid on Thursday (27 March).

    Diamond are virtually the only form of mineral production in the Republic.
