  • Description

The Palestinian Commando Organisation on Monday (March 19) denounced a bomb attack on the weekly magazine Al-Hawadess, which damaged six printing presses.

The Palestinian News Agency quoted the commando organisation as saying the Palestinian revolution considered the attack as being directed against the freedom of opinion and the press. It said such tactics were disapproved of by all organisations of the Palestinian revolution.

Four armed men forced their way into the newspaper building early on Monday morning. They led away two printing workers and tired them up. At least two bombs were planted and the explosions caused a fire.

In spite of the damage, the publishers announced that this week's edition would appear on schedule. The magazine is considered to be a right-wing publication.

There have recently been a series of bomb attacks against newspapers in Beirut.
