SPEECH ON FILM (TRANSCRIPT) INTERVIEWER: "How were your conditions throughout all these times?
SEQ. 1: ROSEN:"(Indistinct)."
ROSEN:"I had steak three times a day, and I slept. You know, it was warm in the winter. Took showers, uh, at least once a week."
INTERVIEWER: "What about the health care..doctors?"
ROSEN:"The health care..at certain periods, when I needed.. I had some health problems."
INTERVIEWER:"Have doctors come to see?"
ROSEN:"I've seen doctors, yes."
INTERVIEWER:"How would you described relations with (indistinct)?"
SEQ. 2: LAUTERBACH:"Well, speaking for myself, the relations were all right. There was, for the most part, no real hostility.. er..or..er..mistreatment. We were all, I think, we got along pretty well."
INTERVIEWER:"Do you think that they may make propaganda that you have been tortured, or brainwashed? Do you think that's true?"
SEQ. 3: KUPKE:"No, that wouldn't be true."
INTERVIEWER:"And, uh, what do you think you have experienced during this time? What have you learned from your experienced and what have you learn about the Islamic revolution?"
KUPKE:"I learnt how to pass 14 and a half months, ha, without much to do except read About the revolution, I don't really know that much I've been on the inside of things I haven't seen the revolution in progress, actually ".
INTERVIEWER:"About your general situation and condition in all this time, how would you described your full time with us?"
SEQ. 4: LEE:"I was well treated."
INTERVIEWER:"How was the food?"
LEE:"The food was adequate."
INTERVIEWER:"How about health conditions, doctors etc?"
LEE:"Yes, if I had been sick, I'm sure a doctor would have been made available. I was never sick."
INTERVIEWER:"And how did you spend your time?"
LEE:"A lot of time reading; a lot of time praying; and a lot of time wondering what it was all about."

Among other things, the interviewers asked the Americans about the kind of treatment they'd received during their 14 months in captivity. This film contains interviews with four male hostages. They are, in this order: Barry Rosen, Steven Lauterbach, Frederick Kupke, and Garry Lee.
