Speaking at the opening of an Assembly of the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa, Colonel Mohamed Zerguini, Chairman of the Algerian Olympic Committee, urged African states to make their attendance at this year's Olympic Games in Munich conditional on the exclusion of South Africa and Rhodesia.

Countries represented at the assembly are Algeria, Congo, Nigeria, Cameroun, Tunisia, Morocco, Niger, Mauritius, Senegal, Central African Republic, Guinea, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Libya, Kenya, Tanzania, Mali, Togo, Ivory Coast, Burundi and Ghana.
