  • Description

Thirty three youths from eleven countries - Canada; Denmark; Finland; France; Great Britain; Greece; Holland; Japan; Switzerland and the USA - are banded together to spend their summer vacation helping to build a church near the village of Skjern, Jutland, Denmark.

The young church builders have been recruited through the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland. Because of last summer's foundation building by another group, this year's group are now erecting the church walls.

Rev. Hakon Rabjerg, the Vicar, says; "Due to the church's isolated location (on the Jutland Moor) it will become an oasis of peace for the 20th century's mixed-up human beings." "Apart from the church, the project will incorporate living accommodation for 30 people.

This summer the chapel will be finished, and it is hoped the church will be completed during the course of summer 1960.
