    Background: THE RED CROSS FAIR HELD IN BANGKOK ON JANUARY 11 ATTRACTED THOUSAND OF PEOPLE, INCLUDING KING BHUNIPOL ADULYADEJ AND QUEEN SIRIKIT OF THAILAND.

    A SPECIAL PAVILION WAS ERECTED TO ACCOMMODATE THE ROYAL QUESTS, OTHER DIGNITARIES AND SOME HIGH RANKING OFFICIALS OF THE RED CROSS.

    HUNDREDS OF RED CROSS WORKERS, SOME IN NATIONAL COSTUME, THEN MARCHED PAST THE PAVILION. KING BHUNIPOL ADULYADEJ TOOK THE SALUTE FROM A DAIS NEXT TO THE PAVILION.

    LATER, THEIR MAJESTIES, ACCOMPANIED BY OFFICIALS OF THE RED CROSS, PROCEEDED TO THE AMPORN GARDENS WHERE THEY VISITED ABOUT THIRTY BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED STALLS.

    THE KING LATER TRIED HIS HAND AT THE ARMY'S PISTOL STALL. HE IS AN ACKNOWLEDGED MARKSMAN AND PATRON OF THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
