    Four agreements on developing economic cooperation and trade between Chile and the People's Republic of China were signed in Peking last week (8 June). Chilean Planning Minister Gonzale Martner said the agreements cover mutual economic and technical cooperation, and exchange of merchandise and long term commercial relations.

    The agreements on economic cooperation were signed by Mr Martner and Fang Yi, Chinese Minister of Economic Relations with Foreign Countries. As leader of the Chilean Economic Delegation, Mr Martner also signed the trade agreements, along with Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade, Pai Hsiang-Kue.

    Later, the Chilean delegation was received by Premier Chou En-lai for a two-hour cordial and Friendly talk, as soon in this film from Peking Television.

    SYNOPSIS: The culmination of more than a week of talks in Peking, as four separate economic and trade agreements were signed last week by an economic delegation from Chile and officials of the government of the People's Republic of China. Head of the Chilean delegation Minister of Planning Gonzale Martner, and Chinese Minister of Economic Relations with Foreign Countries, Fang Yi, signed the agreements, along with Pai Hsiang-Kue, Minister of Foreign Trade.

    Following the signing ceremony, the members of the Chilean delegation were invited to a meeting with Chinese Premier Chou En-lai. Participating as part of the Chilean delegation was Armando Uribe Arce, Chilean Ambassador to China. In addition to Chinese officials present at the signing ceremony Chinese Ambassador to Chile, Lin Ping attended the two-hour talks.

    The talks, at which bilateral matters were discussed, were described as friendly and cordial. The four economic and trade agreements signed earlier cover mutual economic and technical cooperation, an exchange of merchandise and long-term commercial relations, according to Chilean Minister Martner. He and the rest of the Chilean Economic Delegation had begun talks with Chinese officials in Peking on the twenty-seventh of May.
