Background: President Hubert Maga of Dahomey, on a three-day visit to Greece at the invitation of the Greek Government, laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Athens on Tuesday (April 11) and later met for an hour with Regent-Premier General George Papadopoulos. The President, who was accompanied by his wife and Finance Minister, M. Pascal Kao, told reporters on his arrival on Monday (April 10) that he would be discussing economic, trade and cultural issues with the Greek Government. The possibility of Greek finance for Dahomey's development plan -- particularly in the agricultural field -- would also be discussed, he said.

The Greek Government has announced its intention to improve relations with all Arab and African countries, and Deputy Premier Stylianos Pattakos recently visited a number of African countries.
