  • Description

East German television has released the first film of the communist takeover of Hue in South Vietnam.

In stark contrast to film from Western camera crows of fleeing refugees, this film shows scenes of peace and normality in the occupied city.

In this official film a child eats a chocolate bar; mothers hand over their children to be kissed by Vietcong soldiers, and factory workers smile as they manufacture Provisional Revolutionary Government (PRG) flags.

The release of the film coincides with a Vietcong broadcast earlier this week outlining religious and other freedoms for the citizens of the newly-claimed territories.
