    THE SOUTH KOREAN PRIME MINISTER, MR. IL KWON CHUNG, YESTERDAY (MONDAY) PAID A FLYING VISIT TO DI AN; WHERE TWO THOUSAND-ODD KOREAN COMBAT ENGINEERS ARE BASED. DI AN CAMP IS SITUATED ABOUT 12 MILES NORTH OF SAIGON. IN RECENT WEEKS, GUERILLA ACTIVITY IN THIS AREA HAS GREATLY INCREASED.

    MR. CHUNG SPENT NEARLY FOUR HOURS AT THE CAMP, WAS MET ON ARRIVAL BY BRIGADIER GENERAL MOON HWAN CHO, COMMANDER OF THE KOREAN MILITARY ASSISTANCE GROUP IN VIETNAM. AFTER TALKING TO THE TROOPS, MR. CHUNG DAVE BRIGADIER CHO; RADIOS, CIGARETTES AND SWEETS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO THE ENGINEERS.

    WHILE TOURING THE CAMP AND VISITING THE VARIOUS INSTALLATIONS SET UP BY THE ENGINEERS, MR. CHUNG WAS SHOWN A COMMUNIST FLAG SIZED FROM THE CAMP'S PERIMETER ON SATURDAY (SEPT. 25) AND SOME RUSSIAN-MADE WEAPONS CAPTURED FROM THE VIETCONG IN RECENT OPERATIONS. THE FLAG AS PLANNED BY A VIETCONG WHO ALSO ATTACHED A MINE TO THE CRUDELY FASHIONED FLAG POLE. THE MINE DID NOT EXPLODE.

    IN THE MALAYSIAN CAPITAL OF KUALA LUMPUR TODAY, A MILITARY BAND STRUCK UP THE KOREAN NATIONAL ANTHEM AS A CHARTERED AIRCRAFT TAXIED IN FROM SAIGON WITH MR. CHUNG AND A FIVE-MAN DELEGATION ABOARD. ON HAND TO GREAT THEM WERE SEVERAL KOREAN WOMEN-WIVES OF EMBASSY STAFF. THE MALAYSIAN PRIME MINISTER, TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN AND THE KOREAN AMBASSADOR, MR. KYO CHOI WERE THE FIRST TO WELCOME THE VISITORS.

    DURING HIS STAY IN KUALA LUMPUR, MR. CHUNG AND THE TUNKU ARE EXPECTED TO REVIEW THE POLITICAL SITUATION IN THE REGION AND TO DISCUSS THE FORTHCOMING AFRO-ASIAN CONFERENCE IN ALGIERS; THE INDO-PAKISTAN CONFLICT AND THE VIETNAM CRISIS.
