    President Georges Pompidou of France has spent two days in the Ivory Coast as the third stage of his five-nation tour of Africa.

    Yesterday, 8th February, he drove through Abidjan to the Town Hall where he was given the keys of the city and went on to the National Assembly to make a speech to the assembled delegates.

    In this speech to the National Assembly, President Pompidou spoke of the duty industrialised nations had to contribute towards the development of less industrialised countries. And he added that what the Ivory Coast needed was private investment.

    Two Visnews cameramen are covering the visit of President Pompidou to Africa, Jean Poignonec of Visnews' Paris bureau and Bill Woodman, who is based in Abidjan.
