SYNOPSIS: A government anti-cholera campaign in the Congo Democratic Republic has been stepped up following latest reports that nearly 1,500 people have died of the disease in neighbouring Sudan.

A vaccine gun means that injections can be given much quicker than by conventional means. Vaccination sessions are being held in all the major cities and areas of the country. The government is also running a hygiene campaign at the same time. Plastic wrappers have been distributed to wrap foods exposed to the air, and people are being told of the importance of boiling water before drinking it.
