    W.A.Y. -- the World Assembly of Youth -- held its General Assembly in the Vigyan Bhawan,New Delhi, on 3rd August. According to its book of rules, the organization is the co-ordinating centre of national committees from the major youth movements in countries of all continents. Every national committee holding of W.A.Y. focuses the mental and spiritual trends and aspirations of growing minds in those countries.

    The Assembly adheres to the principles laid out in the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and is closely linked with the UNO, through each branches as UNESCO and the Food and Agriculture Organization, and also with the Council of Europe.

    W.A.Y. deals with many aspects of youth, including work, recreation and development, General Assembly are held every two years, and the organization is run by a Council and Executive Committee.

    Mr. Nebru, Premier of India, spoke to the 400 representatives of 80 countries in New Delhi this year. He talked mainly of present day fears and the need for respect of one country for another, whether friend or foe.

    Mr. Antoine Lawrence, President of W.A.Y., stressed the importance of closer co-operation between nations. He stated that youth today rejected the barrier of race. They refused to accept this criterion of some pretended priority".

    Among the guests at this year's General Assembly was the U.K. High Commissioner to India, Mr MacDonald, the USA Ambassador, Mr. Bunker, and his wife, and Mrs Indira Gandhi, Mr Nehru's daughter.
