  • Description

President Idi Amin of Uganda is continuing his daily duties unperturbed by the rising controversy over his decision to expel all British Asians now in the country. On Sunday he attended an international motor-cycle rally and flagged off one of the races. General Amin meets this week with the British High Commissioner in Kampala, Mr. Richard Slater, to discuss his decision. According to the President, the number of Asians in Uganda with British passports numbers eighty thousand, but other reports put the total at forty thousand. The Asians themselves have declined to say very much about the Ugandan decision at this stage.
