This film contains part of Mr. Snedden's speech:
"The Labour experiment has been tried and it has failed. Through broken promises, sheer incompetence, the Labour Party has forfeited all rights you gave it to shape Australia's future. The decision you make will determine our lives far beyond the next Parliament, it will determine the future of Australia for the rest of this century. Now is the time for the Liberal-Country Party Government to take up the responsibility of Government and restore Australia to that right path. We will restore the ANZUS alliance. We will encourage a continuing American presence in Asia, the Pacific and the Indian Oceans. We will consult with our partners in the Five Power agreement as to the best from of Australian contribution."

Background: The Leader of the Australia Opposition, Mr. Bill Snedden, launched his party's election campaign on Tuesday (30 April) with a call to the Australian people to beat inflation by defeating the Labour Government and returning the country to its "true course". The election will be held on 18 May. Seven hundred people packed a hall in the Sydney suburb of North Rocks to hear Mr. Snedden outline his party's platform. The economy was made the central point of the speech. Mr. Snedden said inflation, running at I per cent, had been caused by the Labour Government and the Liberal-Country Party coalition would take moves to control the problem.
