    A 25-YEAR TRADE AGREEMENT HAS BEEN SIGNED BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTS OF CONGO (KINSHASA) AND UGANDA. THIS FOLLOWS TRADE WHICH BEGAN IN KINSHASA LAST THURSDAY (22 SEPTEMBER).

    UGANDA WAS REPRESENTED AT THE TALKS BY THE MINISTER FOR COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY, MR. OBWANGOR, AND CONGO BY M. KASHALE, THE FOREIGN TRADE MINISTER.

    THE UGANDAN MISSION RETURNED TO KAMPALA TODAY. MR OBWANGOR SAID THE MISSION'S DISCUSSIONS CENTRED ON POSSIBILITIES OF EXPANDING TRADE BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES AND ON IMPROVING TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS TO FACILITATE TRADE. THE MINISTER DID NOT REVEAL DETAILS OF THE NEW TRADE AGREEMENT.
