Seen in this clip is the Royal Air Force's fully mobile ground to air guided weapon system, Tigercat. I can be brought into action in a very short time and operated by there men. Tigercat provides defence against low flying aircraft and is an ideal weapon for protecting airfields, radar installations and military installation. It is highly accurate and because it is visually tracked there are flares in the tail to assist the aimer. The basic principle of the system is that the aimer, who is seated in the director, tracks a target with binoculars. The launcher, which is slaved to the to the director, follows the aimer's line of sight, but with corrections for parallax, wind, and launch ballistics added.
