    THE TONGAN MONARCHY TODAY (THURSDAY) ATTENDED THE ANNUAL SOVEREIGN'S PARADE AT THE SANDHURST ROYAL MILITARY ACADEMY. KING TAUFA "AHU TUPOU AND QUEEN MATA AHO WATCHED THEIR SON, PRINCE TUPOUTO" A, A SENIOR OFFICER CADET, PARADE FOR THE LAST TIME AT SANDHURST, BEFORE RECEIVING HIS SOVEREIGN'S COMMISSION.

    MRS. BETTY KAUNDA, THE WIFE OF THE ZAMBIAN PRESIDENT, KENNETH KAUNDA, ALSO ATTENDED THE CEREMONY TO SEE HER SON PANUI ON PARADE.

    THE QUEEN'S MEDAL TO THE SENIOR OFFICER CADET FIRST IN THE FINAL ORDER OF MERIT WAS AWARDED TO NEW ZEALANDER, G. F. PEARCE. HE AND THE OTHER SENIOR OFFICER CADETS ON PARADE ENTERED THE SANDHURST ACADEMY IN JANUARY 1967. THEY INCLUDED MEN FROM TANZANIA, CEYLON, BAHREIN, ETHIOPIA, AND MALAYSIA.

    AFTER THE INSPECTION, OFFICIAL ADDRESS AND PRESENTATIONS, THE SENIOR DIVISION MARCHED OFF THE PARADED UP THE STEPS OF THE GRAND ENTRANCE WITH THE COLOURS IN THE LEAD.

    THEN, ACCORDING TO CUSTOM, THE ADJUTANT, MAJOR G. A. ALLAN OF THE IRISH GUARDS, RODE HIS HORSE INTO THE GRAND ENTRANCE.

    THE INSPECTION WAS HEADED BY THE CHIEF OF THE GENERAL STAFF, GENERAL SIR GEORFFREY BAKER.
