  • Description

Hundreds of young people gathered in London's Trafalgar Square on Sunday (June 6) afternoon expressing their support for Britain's proposed entry into the European Economic Community. The "Youth for Europe" rally was staged by members of the Greater London Young Conservatives and followed a big rally yesterday by anti-marketeers.

In a special message sent to today's rally, Prime Minister, Edward Heath, said Britons must seize the opportunity of going into Europe -- or be condemned by future generations.

The rally -- and Mr. Heath's message -- came on the eve of the departure for Luxembourg of Britain's chief Common Market negotiator, Mr. Geoffrey Rippon, who will have further talks with the Community's Council of Ministers on Britain's application to join. A number of speakers spoke in support of British entry.
