    IN WEST GERMANY TODAY POLICE CLASHED WITH YOUNG LEFT-WING DEMONSTRATORS FOR THE THIRD DAY RUNNING AT AN ELECTION RALLY ADDRESSED BY HERR ADOLF VON THADDEN, LEADER OF THE EXTREME RIGHT-WING NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY. TODAY'S DISTURBANCES TOOK PLACE IN THE INDUSTRIAL TOWN OF BIELEFELD.

    TWO POLICEMEN WERE INJURED AND SIXTEEN DEMONSTRATORS WERE ARRESTED. THE FIGHTING BROKE OUT AS COLUMNS OF POLICE DASHED INTO THE CROWD OF 7,000 PEOPLE TO SEIZE YOUTHS ARMED WITH STICKS AND BOTTLES AND WAVING TWO LARGE VIET CONG FLAGS.

    JEERS CONFRONTED HERR VON THADDEN AS HE GREETED THE CROWD WITH THE PARTY SLOGAN "SAFETY THROUGH LAW AND ORDER" FROM THE TOWN HALL BALCONY. THE DEMONSTRATORS, SHOUTING "SEIG HEIL" ALMOST DROWNED OUT HIS SPEECH.

    THE CROWD HURLED EGGS AND BAGS OF PAINT AT THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC LEADER BUT HE WAS NOT HIT.

    IN HIS SPEECH HERR VON THADDEN ACCUSED WEST GERMAN CHANCELLOR KURT GEORG KIESINGER OF HAVING BEEN A LEADING MEMBER OF THE NAZI RADIO PROPAGANDA DEPARTMENT.
