Background: The crew of the German Submarine Hect is filmed at Gosport England November 14th at the completion of Submarine Escape Training.

The Germans were put through their paces at the submarine escape tank, Gosport, by Royal Naval instructors.

Commanded by former U boat Captain R. Reche, the 250-ton Hecht, one of the smallest sea-going submarines in service, was in England for a week's stay.

When Hecht arrived at Portsmouth on Remembrance Day, November 11th the British Legion complained the timing of the visit was thoughtless in view of the significance of Remembrance Day.
