  • Description

Zsuzsi Roboz, Hungarian-born star pupil of Pietro Annigoni, opened her first one - woman exhibition of her portraits and landscapes in London last night.

She was born in Budapest, and settled in this country in 1947. She has travelled extensively in Europe and America. Studying first at the Regent Street Polytechnic, and then at the Royal Academy Schools, Miss Roboz became, in 1954, a pupil of Pietro Annigoni and studied under him in Florence and London.

She has already exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Royal Society of British Artists.

In her exhibition is a self-portrait. The hair? "When I painted the picture I had dyed my hair auburn - just for a change", said dark-haired Zsuzsi.

Miss Roboz was a little diffident about discussing Annigoni's portrait of Princess Margaret. She said: "I think the Princess's picture is wonderful, but please don't ask me to say more because it would not be right for the pupil to give judgment on the master's work."
