An American woman is the one-millionth passenger to travel in BOAC's VC-10 jetliners. Mrs Fran Simon, a 51-year-old New Yorker, flew in to London today (Saturday) on VC-10 flight BA506 from Kennedy Airport. She was accompanied by her husband Nat. Waiting to greet her with a congratulatory bouquet was "Miss Speedbird," 22-year-old BOAC receptionist Linda Marshall. Her statistical feat also earned Mrs Simon a silver bowl, presented in New York, and a silver given her in London.
Mr and Mrs Simon, who own two fashionable New York restaurants, are on the first leg of a around-the-world trip which is part vacation and part work. Mrs Simon wants to collect a global selection of recipes. She plans to try them out on her customers at "Nat Simon's Penguin," a Greenwich Village haunt of celebrities on West 9th Street, and at the "Broadcaster's Inn" at Fresh Meadow.
