    THE WORKS OF ART HAD BEEN COLLECTED TOGETHER BY AN ARCHITECT, M. VERWILGHEN, WHO HAS MADE TRIPS TO CONGO-KINSHASA. THEY INAUGURATED A GALLERY PROMOTED BY A STAUNCH FRIEND OF AFRICAN ART, MADAME GALLES.

    A LARGE CROWD ATTENDED THE OPENING TO ADMIRE A REMARKABLE SELECTION OF PAINTING BY SUCH ARTISTS AS MAWINGA, WUMA, NDUKA, DTERNKA, JEMA, BALA, MALAIA, EMMANY, BALEKO, ZOWE AND VIDEIRA.

    FOLLOWING THE EXHIBITION MANY BELGIAN NEWSPAPERS APPEARED WITH ARTICLES BY THEIR ART CRITICS PRAISING THE SHOW WHICH GAVE AMPLE PROOF OF THE VITALITY, DIVERSITY AND ORIGINALITY OF CONTEMPORARY CONGOLESE ART.
