    Mr. G. Gordon Liddy, the Watergate burglar sentenced to a sentence of up to 20 years for his part in the break-in, will face further charges for contempt.

    When he was called before the United States House of Representatives Intelligence Sub-Committee on Friday (July 20) Liddy refused to take the oath to tell the truth and refused to testify, according to Mr. Lucien Nedzi, the Sub-Committee Chairman.

    Mr. Nedzi told reporters, the five man sub-committee, which has been investigating alleged involvement of the Central Intelligence Agency in the Watergate Affair and the Pentagon Papers case, voted unanimously to cite Mr Liddy for contempt before the House.

    If found guilty Liddy could receive an additional sentence of between one and 12 month imprisonment.

    He hoe yet to begin serving his sentence of between six years and eight months and 20 years imprisonment for the burglary and bugging of the Democratic Party Headquarters at Watergate.
