Background: The Kuwaiti Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Khaled Adasani, on Friday (14 April) arrived in Amman for a three-day visit to Jordan. The visit was part of a tour Mr. Adasani is making of countries participating in the Arab Industrial Development Centre, set up two years ago under the auspices of the Arab League.
On Saturday, Mr. Adasani had talks with Jordanian Prime Minister Ahmed Lawzi and Economy Minister Omar Nabulsi. The Kuwaiti Ambassador in Amman, Mr. Mohammed as-Saddah, also took part in the talks.
It is understood the two sides would be discussing projects initiated by the Arab Industrial Development Conference, the main one being the establishment of a supra-national company to found new industries in the Arab world.
SYNOPSIS: In Amman, Jordanian and Kuwaiti leaders have been talking about the future industrial development of Arab League countries. A Kuwaiti delegation headed by Mr. Khaled Adasani, the Minister of Trade and Industry, arrived in Amman on Friday for a three-day visit as part of a tour they've been making including Egypt, Syria and Arabian Gulf states.
On Saturday, Jordanian Prime Minister Ahmed Lawzi welcomed the Kuwaiti team to talks at his residence. The two sides were expected to discuss progress on projects initiated by the Arab Industrial Development Conference - in particular, plans to set up a supranational company to found industries in the Arab world.
