Background: Visnews filmed Jan 29 New York's greeting to visiting Argentine President Arturo Frondizi. Broadway greeted him with the traditional show of ticker tape.

The 50 year-old President waved from his open limousine to cheering New Yorkers. Broadway was lined with wellwishers. The ticker tape continued to shower from skyscraper windows as he drove to journey's end: the City Hall for a reception.

During his visit Frondizi called on foreign investors to help develop his country. The Argentine Government, he said, was battling against inflation.

Requesting foreign capital, he said the economic chaos of long years had pauperised his country. The Government had started to tackle the chaos by promoting national production of abundant coal, oil, iron and steel resources.
