  • Description

Canada, the host nation, are dominating the gold medal race after three days of the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, Alberta. With nearly all the athletics finals to come, the Canadians will find it hard to hold off the medal challenge of Australia and the African nations, but at the moment they are out in front. On Sunday (6 August) they again dominated the swimming and also won the gold medal in the women's gymnastics team final. Australia hit back with a gold in the Middleweight final of the weightlifting. Commentaries are by the BBC's Alan Weeks, David Vine, and Ron Pickering.
