    A Czechoslovakian handball team form Prague defeated the selected Jordanian national team by a final score of 24 to 19, in a match at Amman's King Hussein Sport City for Youth on Saturday (22 April). The match was played under the patronage of the Secretary-General of the Youth Care Organisation, His Honour Fawwaz Sharaf.

    Although both teams played with equal verve, the Czechoslovakians, wearing the red shirts, soon had the upper hand. The Jordanians, in the white shirts, put up a hard fight, but at half time the Czechoslovakians were ahead 14 to 9. Czechoslovakians kept up the pressure through the second half and were able to come through to win.

    After the match had ended, Mr. Sharaf handed out medals to the players of both teams.

    Among the many spectators were representatives of the Czechoslovakian Embassy in Amman.

    The Czechoslovakian team's visit to Jordan is part of a current tour of Arab countries. It's reported that four members of the Czechoslovakian team will be participating in the Munich Olympics later this year as part of their country's national squad.

    In an earlier match at Irbid, in north Jordan, the Czechoslovakians defeated the northern Selected Clubs Team by a score of 14 to 24.

The Jordanians were in white and the Czechoslovakians in red. At the start, the Jordanians were able to take possession. But they were facing a tough team.

    The Czechoslovakians, who were on a tour of Arab countries, had already beaten the selected team form north Jordan in a match at Irbid. And seen, the Czechoslovakians were putting on the pressure.

    By half time, the Czechoslovakians were making themselves felt. They were ahead with a score of 14 to 9.

    Among the many spectators were representatives of the Czechoslovakian Embassy in Amman who'd come to watch their team in action.

    And at the and, the Czechoslovakians had defeated the Jordanians by 24 to 19.

    The match was played under Mr. Sharaf's patronage, and he handed out medals to members of both teams. It's reported that four members of the Czechoslovakian team will be playing for their country at the Munich Olympics later this year.
