    KIDD, A 26-YEAR-OLD COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY GRADUATE FROM VERMONT, LEAPT FROM SIXTH PLACE AFTER RECORDING THE FASTEST TIME, 47.84, ON HIS SECOND RUN. HIS AGGREGATE TIME OF 99.53 SECONDS EARNED HIM A BRONZE MEDAL.
