    ALSO ON DISPLAY IN THE PARADE WERE TANKS, ARTILLERY, TROOP CARRIES, AND HAWK GROUND-TO-AIR MISSILES. JET FIGHTERS ROARED OVERHEAD AS PICTURESQUE DETACHMENTS OF MOUNTED CIVIL GUARDS TROTTED PAST IN THREE-CORNERED HATS AND 18TH CENTURY DRESS UNIFORMS.

    ACCOMPANYING GENERAL FRANCO WAS PRINCE JUAN CARLOS OF BOURBON, 32-YEAR OLD SON OF THE SPANISH PRETENDER, WHO IS BELIEVED TO BE THE SPANISH LEADER'S FIRST CHOICE SHOULD BE DECIDE TO RESTORE THE MONARCHY. ALSO ON THE SALUTING BASE WAS VICE-PRESIDENT ADMIRAL LUIS CARRERO BLANCO, THE MAN WHO WOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE CONTROL SHOULD GENERAL FRANCO DIE SUDDENLY.
