Background: Morocco's 17th international trade fair, opened April 27, by King Hassan II, features a large Russian exhibition showing housing and farming development. The fair lasts until May 4.
Before inspecting the Russian exhibition, the King toured British and French trade stands. The Russian exhibition is the latest of its kind in African states.
Apart from prestige value - the Russian exhibition with its sales emphasis on agricultural machines - in particular tractors - is aimed at one of Morocco's weak spots in the national economy - the lack of mechanisation in agriculture.
