    IN HIS EULOGY PRESIDENT CHUNG HEE PARK HAILED DR.RHEE AS A SYMBOLIC FIGURE IN THE HISTORY OF MODERN KOREA.HOWEVER HE EXPRESSED REGRET THAT TOWARDS THE END OF HIS 12-YEAR ADMINISTRATION, DR.RHEE 'COMMITTED A POLITICAL MISTAKE, AS HIS WISDOM WAS MARRED BY THE DETESTABLE DEEDS OF HIS VILLAINOUS SUPPORTERS.' (THE PRESIDENT, WHO IS TOURING FLOODED AREAS IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE COUNTRY, WAS UNABLE TO BE PRESENT AT THE CEREMONY.)
    DR.RHEE RESIGNED FROM THE PRESIDENCY IN APRIL 1960 FOLLOWING STUDENT UPRISING AGAINST HIS GOVERNMENT.HE HAD BEEN LIVING IN EXILE IN HAWAII.

    (AFTER THE BURIAL SERVICE THE COFFIN WAS TAKEN TO THE NATIONAL CEMETERY OUTSIDE THE CAPITAL WHERE DR.RHEE WAS BURIED IN A GRAVE ON THE PEAK OF KONJAK (PEACOCK) HILL.
