    PRINCIPAL INTEREST FOR SHOW VISITORS CENTRED ON THE NEW JAPANESE-MANUFACTURED PASSENGER CARS - IN PARTICULAR NISSAN'S STYLISH CEDRIC SIX, AND THE TWO-DOOR TOYOTA HARD-TOP. THESE HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED TO COMPETE AGAINST FOREIGN MAKES FOR THE JAPANESE MEDIUM-PRICED CAR MARKET.

    TOP-PRICED CAR AT THE SHOW IS NISSAN'S GBP3,000-STERLING "PRESIDENT", WHICH IS NOT RELEASED FOR EXPORT. LOWEST-PRICED PASSENGER VEHICLE IS SUZUKI'S SUZULIGHT FRONTE 260, A BUBBLE-SHAPED, 22 HORSEPOWER, FOUR-SEATER COSTING GBP383 STERLING.

    HONDA HAS INCLUDED ITS 12-CYLINDER FORMULA SPORTS CAR, WHICH WON THE MEXICO GRAND PRIX THIS WEEK. FROM RUSSIA CAME THE MOSKOVITCH RANGE, ANOTHER EXHIBIT ATTRACTING ATTENTION.

    THE JAPANESE CAR MARKET IS FACING INCREASED COMPETITION SINCE RESTRICTIONS ON IMPORTED VEHICLES WERE LIFTED ON OCTOBER 1.
