Background: Prime Minister Dzemal Bijedic of Yugoslavia arrived in Cairo yesterday (Wednesday) to start a five-day visit to Egypt. Shortly after his arrival, he held the first rounds of talks with Prime Minister Dr. Aziz Sidky and with Vice President Dr. Mahmoud Fawzy.
Their discussions are reported to centre primarily on the situation in the Middle East, bilateral relations between Yugoslavia and Egypt, and outstanding international issues.
Later, Prime Minister Bijedic will also be meeting with President Anwar Sadat.
SYNOPSIS: Prime Minister Dzemal Bijedic of Yugoslavia started a five-day visit to Cairo on Wednesday -- and immediately held talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Dr. Aziz Sidky.
The Yugoslavian statesman is reported to be discussing several matters, among them, the situation in the Middle East; bilateral relations between Yugoslavia and Egypt; and other outstanding international issues.
The Foreign Ministry was also one of Prime Minister Bijedic's first stops--there he held a meeting with Vice President Dr. mahmoud Fawzy. They also discussed many of the same issues that were on the agenda of the visitor's talks with Dr. Sidky.
Later, during his visit to the Egyptian capital, Prime Minister Bijedic is also expected to hold talks with President Anwar Sadat.
