    Ernesto Che Guevara, President of the Cuban National Bank, and the First Vice Trade Minister of Bulgaria, Latchezar Avramov, went to the Cuban Foreign Ministry in Havana October 7 to sign a trade agreement as a first step towards establishing diplomatic and commercial relationships between their two countries.

    Under the five-year treaty, Bulgaria will buy a minimum of 20,000-tons of Cuban sugar annually, and will also purchase other goods. In return, Cuba will buy agricultural machinery, diesel motors, water pumps, electrical articles, and bicycles.

    Also signed was a credit agreement and a technical and scientific aid agreement under which each nation will give the other "a technical credit of one million dollars".
