    SYNOPSIS: Finance ministers from the Franc Zone have completed their annual conference - this year held in the capital of Chad, Fort Lamy.

    The conference lasted two days and brought together the French Minister of Finance - and his counterparts in former French African colonies. The meeting ended on February 22nd with a communique calling for a rapid and sweeping reform of the world money system. Such reform, the ministers said, should be carried out by the International Monetary Fund, in which all interested countries are represented.

    The communique asserts that Franc Zone countries are anxious to preserve the stability which the zone displayed during the recent international money crisis. The finance ministers have now returned to their home countries to report to their governments.
