    The new Director-General of Air Afrique, the multi-national African airline company spent four days in the Congo People's Republic last week to discuss the company's relations with the Congolese Government. M. Haoussou koffi, from the Ivory Coast, succeeded M. Cheikh Fall as Director-General of the company. he arrived on Wednesday (10 October).

    Air Afrique was established by an agreement between Sodetraf (Societs pour le Developpement du Transport Aerien en Afrique) and 11 African states, all former French colonies. Within the past three years, two countries have withdrawn from Air Afrique and the Congo joined it. Now the company, with headquarters in the Ivory coast, has 10 constituent members, each with a seven per cent share in it, along with Sodetraf, that holds a 30 per-cent share in the company.

    M. Koffi spent four days in Brazzaville. The airport there contains important maintenance facilities for Air Afrique, as well as being the starting point for four Air Afrique routes. On Thursday, (11 October) M. Koffi met the Congolese president, M. Marien Ngouabi, with whom he discussed the relationship between the airline and the Congo. M. Koffi also met the Congolese Prime Minister and Minister of Transport.
