In Paris explosions, almost simultaneous, damaged three Turkish official buildings on Sunday (8 July). A group calling itself 'the Avengers of Armenian Genocide' claimed responsibility.
SYNOPSIS: The Advice Centre for Turkish Workers in the Boulevarde Beaumarchais was one of the targets. Most of the damage was confined to the doorway. Police were called to the scene.
Meanwhile at the Turkish Airlines Office near the Opera House another blast ripped through the building. The group claiming responsibility for the explosions calls itself 'The Avengers of Armenian Genocide'. Between 1915 and 1918 an estimated 1.6 million Armenians died in massacres during the former Ottoman Empire.
A third bomb was detonated outside the Turkish Embassy's Information Department on the Champs Elysee. Police said one person was slightly hurt by flying glass. Elsewhere a fourth bomb was found and defused at the offices of Turkey's delegation to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
