Background: A house and a number of cars were damaged during the night Of 28-29 December by two Katyusha rocket attacks launched by Arab guerrillas from Jordanian territory against the north Israeli town of Beit Shean.

The first attack on Beit Shean occurred before midnight, and the second in the early hours of the morning.

There were no casualties in the attacks, the first of their kind since the fighting in Jordan in September, between guerrillas and Government forces.

There was also action on Israel's two other northern fronts with Lebanon and Syria.
