  • Description

A helicopter struck a broadcast tower on May 24th, knocking two repairmen to their deaths. The helicopter crashed, killed the pilot. The entire accident was filmed.

The two men were repairing the top of a broadcast tower at Vancouver, British Columbia, when a helicopter used as a flying crane flew next to the tower and clipped the top.

The two repairmen were thrown violently to one side and dropped to the earth 200 feet below. A piece of the tower broke off and fell, as the helicopter spun away from the tower and crashed, too.

All three men involved in the tragedy were killed.

This unusual film was being shot for the files of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 8 millimetre. The action is shown first at regular speed and then repeated in slow motion.
