Crown Prince Hassan of Jordan started on 8 day visit to Taiwan on April 16th. During his stay the Crown Prince was scheduled to visit many parts of the Island, and was accompanied on occasion by Generalissimo's Chiang kai-shek's deputy, Chiang Ching-kou. The Crown Prince also spent 3 days in Kaoushiung, in the Southern part of Taiwan. There to greet him was a full military guard of honour.
At Kaoushiung the Prince watched a spectacular demonstration by parachutists under training. He also visited an advanced electronic assembly plant, a fruit canning factory, and a cattle-market.
Crown Prince Hassan's visit to Taiwan follows a recent visit to jordan by a delegation of economic experts from Taiwan. The experts were studying the possibility of financing industries in Jordan.
SYNOPSIS: While on a visit to Taiwan, Crown Prince hassan of jordan received an impressive welcome. The Crown Prince started his eight day visit on April the sixteenth. Chiang Ching-kuo, Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek's deputy, accompanied the Royal visitor on several occasions. Here, at Kaoushiung, a guard of honour greeted the Prince.
While at Kaoushiung, in Southern Taiwan, Prince hassan watched trainee parachutists being put through their paces. The trainees seemed determined to impress their Royal visitor.
A visit to the Kaoushiung cattle-market was also on the agenda, during three full days in the city.
The Royal visitor toured one of Taiwan's modern electronic assembly factories in Kaoushiung. Most of the operators were girls.
There was also a visit to a fruit processing and canning factory. Prince Hassan's visit to Taiwan follows a recent visit to Jordan by a Taiwan delegation of financial and economic experts exploring financing possibilities.
