Background: AMERICAN NEUROLOGISTS ARE NOW USING A NEW TECHNIQUE FOR TAKING X-RAYS OF THE BRAIN WHICH INVOLVES LAUNCHING THE PATIENT INTO "SPACE".

THE NEW TECHNIQUE USES A MACHINE WHICH IS CLAIMED TO BE THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND IN THE WORLD. THE MACHINE ENABLES THE PATIENT AND THE X-RAY TUBE TO BE MOVED INTO ANY DESIRED POSITION AND EVEN TURN A COMPLETE SOMERSAULT. MEDICAL MODELS WHO HAVE BEEN TRYING OUT THE NEW TECHNIQUE DESCRIBE THE EXPERIENCE AS LIKE BEING IN SPACE.

BY USING THIS NEW TECHNIQUE, NEUROLOGISTS CAN OBTAIN X-RAYS OF AREAS OF THE BRAIN WHICH HAVE BEEN DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO X-RAY SUCCESSFULLY BEFORE. THE ROTATION OF THE PATIENT CHANGES THE POSITION OF FLUIDS AND AIR POCKETS INSIDE THE BRAIN REVEALING MANY MORE AREAS TO THE X-RAY.
