    THE CEREMONY COMMEMORATES THE BIG NAVAL AND AIR BATTLE BETWEEN THE ALLIES AND JAPANESE IN THE CORAL SEA, 22 YEARS AGO.

    THE OFFICIAL GUEST FOR CORAL SEA WEEK, GENERAL HAMILTON HOWZE, COMMANDER OF THE AMERICAN 8TH ARMY, PLACED A WREATH ON THE CENOTAPH, AFTER THE WREATH LAYING.

    DURING THE DAY, THE MINISTER FOR THE NAVY, MR. CHANEY, AND VICE ADMIRAL, SIR HASTINGS HARRINGTON, CHIEF OF THE NAVAL STAFF, WENT ABOARD THE DESTROYER U.S.S. GOLDSBOROUGH.
