    THE ART PRIZE WENT TO ATO SKUNDER BOGHASSIAN.

    THE ETHIOPIAN NATIONAL LITERACY CAMPAIGN WAS AWARDED THE PRIZE FOR HUMANITARIAN SERVICE. THE AWARD WAS ACCEPTED BY THE MINISTER OF EDUCATIONS, HIS EXCELLENCY ATO AKALE-WORK HABTE-WOLD.

    ATO MENGISTU LEMMA WON THE AWARD FOR LITERATURE.

    PROFESSOR STEFAN STRELCYN, DIRECTOR OF THE INSTITUTE FOR AMERICAN STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW, POLAND, WON THE AWARD FOR ETHIOPIAN STUDIES.

    IN THE INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY, AMERICAN PROFESSOR JOSEPH GREENBERG, FROM STAMFORD UNIVERSITY, AND PROFESSOR THEODORE MONOD OF FRANCE, HEAD OF THE FRENCH NATIONAL HISTORICAL MUSEUM, SHARED THE AWARD FOR AFRICAN STUDIES.

    WHEN THE AWARDS WERE PRESENTED TO THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS, THE IMPERIAL BODY-GUARD PLAYED THE NATIONAL ANTHEMS OF THEIR COUNTRIES.
