    Background: Mister Eisenhower also may be asked at his news conference about the agreement he made with Richard Nixon on how the Vice President was to take over the reins of government in case of a presidential disability. Yesterday, nine senators, both Republicans and Democrats, proposed a constitutional amendment to allow a vice president to take over as acting president whenever a president was unable to carry out his duties. Senate Republican Leader Knowland was asked how the new constitutional proposals fit in with the Eisenhower-Nixon agreement.
