    BLACK PANTHER LEADER ELDRIDGE CLEAVER NOW LIVING IN ALGIERS, MET REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NATIONAL LIBERATION FRONT OF SOUTH VIETNAM ON SATURDAY (20 DECEMBER) - THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE FORMATION OF THE NLF.

    CLEAVER, WANTED BY THE UNITED STATES AUTHORITIES FOR PAROLE VIOLATION, HAS BEEN LIVING IN A SUBURB OF ALGIERS SINCE HIS ARRIVAL FROM CUBA IN JULY. WITH HIM IS HIS WIFE, KATHLEEN, AND FOUR MONTH OLD SON.

    EARLY IN DECEMBER HE WAS JOINED BY TWO OTHER BLACK PANTHER LEADERS, DON COX AND EMERY DOUGLAS. THE BLACK PANTHERS ARE IMPLACABLY OPPOSED TO THE AMERICAN INVOLVEMENT IN THE VIETNAM WAR.

    THE BLACK PANTHERS IS VISITED PHAN VAN QUANG, THE NORTH VIETNAMESE AMBASSADOR TO ALGERIA AT HIS OFFICE TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THE NLF STRUGGLE ON THEIR NINTH ANNIVERSARY. HE ALSO ASSURED HIM OF THE SUPPORT OF THE BLACK PANTHERS.
