    South Korea Air Force received another battalion of jet fighters yesterday in a ceremony held at the Suwon airforce base from United States and activated 109th Fighter Intercepter Squadron.

    Exact number of jet planes received was undisclosed but it was believed that one battalion of fighters turned over to ROK by US airforce. The type of aircrafts are All-Weather Supersonic Fighters.

    ROK Air Force Chief of Staff Lt. General Kim Shin and Brig. General John M. Hutchinson, Commander US Air Force in Korea, signed official turning over paper during the ceremony.

    General Kim addressed in a turning over ceremony saying that these new type of F-86-D all weather jet fighters will serve great in defending South Korea from possible future communists invasion and expressed sincere appreciation to the United States.

    General Kim also ordered men and officers of 109th Fighter Intercepters Squadron which is activated planes well and keep on constant training.

    These sleek Saber Dogs has a 41-foot long fuselage an 37-foot wide swept wing. It flies up to a speed of 720 miles per an hour and is believed to be faster than the communists MIG 17 jet planes.
